Standing together for human rights, civil liberties and social justice for all
Participants will gather in front of the Civic Center Plaza (1200 Third Avenue), and along Third Avenue, between A Street and C Street. The program to kick-off the march will start at 10:00am.
After the program, marchers will be directed to line-up and head towards Broadway and Third Ave. The march will progress west to North Harbor Drive and then north on North Harbor Drive, ending in front of The County Administration Building. The length of the march is approximately 1 mile.
Parking and Transportation
For those driving to the march, there are numerous parking lots available in proximity to the start and end points of the march. Please note that you may want to park near the beginning, middle, or end of the route since the start and end points are not the same.
We encourage carpooling or public transport such as trolley, bus, cab, Uber, Lyft, etc. (see details below). This will reduce traffic around the Civic Center Plaza. Please stay clear of A Street due to congestion, and Third Ave. as it will be closed to traffic in preparation for the march.
Parking meters are enforced Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., unless otherwise posted. Recommended post-March pick-up locations: Pacific Hwy and Kettner Blvd.
The San Diego Trolley connects San Diego’s east and south county communities with the Downtown region. Use the San Diego Civic Center Station stop (Orange and Blue lines) or the Santa Fe Depot stop (Green Line) for the closest drop-offs to the starting point of the march.
The Metropolitan Transit System Trip Planner can be used to plan your trip downtown to the San Diego Civic Theater Plaza for the bus or trolley.
Private groups who have arranged for charter bus service are asked to use the recommended bus and taxi drop off locations as shown in the map, below. (Note: Recommended post-March pick-up locations: Pacific Hwy and Kettner Blvd.)
